          Hi Michael,

We need to have the full trace log (enable with --trace or see log/boxgrinder.log) and full BoxGrinder configuration (~/.boxgrinder/config) and invocation information to help you.

I was trying to use libvirt (VMM in Fedora 16) to start a new virtual mechine. But that seemed to be working to some extent. I can't remember how an image got created. But this is what its output now look likes - http://postimage.org/image/du2tne9f1/

On the otherhand, I installed boxgrinder build and tried to build Fedora 16. I could see its raw file (

/opt/boxgrinder/appliances/build/appances/x86_64/fedora/16/f16-basic/1.0/fedora-plugin/tmp/f16-basic-sda.raw) but i don't know why am getting the below error.

Please respond to the two questions. Thanks

@Marek Goldmann: I don't have var/ log/boxgrinder.log (i didn't use --trace), and the full BoxGrinder configuration (~/.boxgrinder/config) doesn't exist. I installed boxgrinder-build using yum install...... But that directory doesn't exist.

              Michael,

Again, you posted an output of INFO log level, we need to have TRACE. See my first post on how to enable it. Please provide also the info on how did you executed the build (exact command line).

Unfortunately I cannot say anything about your boot issue either because I don't have the logs and I don't have the information how did you installed the appliance using libvirt plugin.

Please provide detailed info so I can help you further.

Hmm, we need to take a look at this. I'm wondering why it happens because our CI builds run just fine on a Fedora 16 JEOS. Could you please paste  the .appl file content?

                        Just a few suggestions:

                        * Run `yum update` on your system as a whole

                        * Are you using Fedora 15 or 16 to build?

                        * Try building with --force to clear out any old builds

                        * As a last resort you could flush out the RPM cache, /var/cache/boxgrinder and start again, just in case something is funny in there.

Btw we are *very* interested in hearing about any problems you (and other people) have with the libvirt tech-preview plugin.  Let us know any issues so we can improve future versions.

I've already had some positive feedback, but if it breaks with your setup we're very keen to find out what is happening!

The libvirt plugin works with the default settings and I am sure it would for other settings. I saw the image pushed to the default dir. When I tried to use the openstack plug-in, i saw that BG pushed and registered the image. But I could not find it in the default directory - /var/lib/nova/images. Where can it be?

please see http://ngportal.com/dump/Screenshot.png. I can't log into the kernel. I used BG to create an image and pushed it to OpenStack. But I couldn't log on to the kernel, when I tried to run an instance of the image.

I asked the guys at Fedora and OpenStack,  but they couldn't resolve it. Since I used a meta appliance and the raw file was pulled from your server, I guess you tweaked the source. So, you would know the username & pwd.
