nbelaevski Oct 15, 2009 3:17 PM (in response to snowhite)Hi,
Do you have nested forms? -
2. Re: 'elements' is null or not an object, javascript error
snowhite Oct 15, 2009 3:48 PM (in response to snowhite)Thanks for your quick reply.
Yes,I do have nested forms in my application. Basically my application has a richfaces tabpanel in which there are 4 tabs. Each tab has an included page using a4j:include. And each page has a seperate form in it. If I do not have a form in the included page, I am unable to do anything on the included page.
Is there any workaround for this?

nbelaevski Oct 15, 2009 5:21 PM (in response to snowhite)You should remove nested forms.

4. Re: 'elements' is null or not an object, javascript error
snowhite Oct 15, 2009 6:11 PM (in response to snowhite)Ok, I removed all the nested forms in my application except for one form in rich:modalpanel. I have a scrollabledatatable in the modalpanel. If I remove the form, then I am unable to get the selected row from the table. Although, 'elements' is null is no more there, now I am getting a new error
Message: Unspecified error. Line: 62 Char: 23 Code: 0 URI: http://localhost:8080/CustomerPortal/a4j/g/3_3_1.GAorg/richfaces/renderkit/html/scripts/controls-scrollable-data-table.js
I believe(I read somewhere), I need to put a separate form in rich:modalpanel. If I keep the form, then 'elements' is null is still there. Please help me

nbelaevski Oct 15, 2009 7:19 PM (in response to snowhite)check documentation for "domElementAttachment" attribute.

6. Re: 'elements' is null or not an object, javascript error
snowhite Oct 15, 2009 8:11 PM (in response to snowhite)Thanks for the tip. I removed the form and used 'domElementAttachment' attribute in modalpanel. I am able to get the selection from scrollabledataTable. However, as I told you earlier, I am getting a new error. The scrollabledatatable alignment is lost. I have 11 columns and my rows are starting from 4th column leaving the first three columns blank. The error I am getting is
Message: Unspecified error. Line: 62 Char: 23 Code: 0 URI: http://localhost:8080/CustomerPortal/a4j/g/3_3_1.GAorg/richfaces/renderkit/html/scripts/controls-scrollable-data-table.js
Is this a bug?I can send a screenshot if needed.
Thanks -

8. Re: 'elements' is null or not an object, javascript error
konstantin.mishin Oct 16, 2009 7:24 AM (in response to snowhite)As you can see, "Unspecified error" isn't informative. So you might create issue in our jira and attach sample (preferable maven2 or Eclipse project) or try to debug JS yourself.

9. Re: 'elements' is null or not an object, javascript error
ilya_shaikovsky Oct 16, 2009 7:46 AM (in response to snowhite)Even if you defined domElementAttachment - you can't use nested forms. So you should choose
1) domElementAttachment=form and form around the table
2) domElementAttachment not used and form inside the modal but the modal outside of external forms. -

13. Re: 'elements' is null or not an object, javascript error
snowhite Oct 19, 2009 12:48 PM (in response to snowhite)Hi,
I uploaded 2 files in sendspace.com.
"successlogin.xhtml"->has the tabpanel containing 4 tabs. Each tab has a separate view in it. (http://www.sendspace.com/file/s40h3z)
info.xhtml -> included page in the first tab which is causing the mentioned problem. It has the scrollabledatatable in the modalpanel whose alignment is lost in IE8. (http://www.sendspace.com/file/wjxwxw)
Please go through my files and let me know if you need any other info. Also, if this is a bug, I can raise a Jira issue.
Thanks -
