1. Re: Any way to send additional context information from JPA to Teiid Execution Factory

There are several mechanisms for passing additional information through Teiid. You'll have to see what fits into the options EclipseLink provides.
One option is the use of the source hint - https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/TEIID/Query+Plans - which passes strings down to the sources via the ExecutionContext.
Another option is the command payload, which is an arbitrary serializable value available via the ExecutionContext, that can be passed via the TeiidStatement interface - https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/TEIID/Statement+Extensions
Alternatively the payload can be manipulated by a SET - https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/TEIID/SET+Statement - which will pass a properties object as the payload containing the name value pairs.

Additional point I would like to make is, you would need to find a way in EclipseLink to use the above methods Steve mentioned, then also you would have to extend the Teiid execution factory to make use of that context that is passed in that suits your needs. Only the Source hint, you do not have to extend, as it will be pushed to the source.
It may be better, if you can explain your use case, then we can suggest what may work the best in your scenario.

shawkins Oct 19, 2012 10:00 AM (in response to rareddy)Just to clarify further, the source hint and execution payload have default behaviors when pushed to an Oracle source. In all other cases as Ramesh indicates customization is needed to handle whatever is passed.

sivajd Oct 19, 2012 3:00 PM (in response to shawkins)Ramesh, and Steve,
Thank you very much for your prompt response. I really appreciate it.
As Ramesh was mentioning, I will definitely mention my specific requirement as to what I want to do and seek both of your input. At this point in time, the information that you all have provided is very valuable and I will look into some more detail before proceeding with what I intend to do.
Thanks and regards...
