1. Re: Arjuna MySQL XADatasource Recovery on JBoss AS7
rkilcoyne Jan 7, 2013 6:54 PM (in response to rkilcoyne)From EAP5 documentation:
- MySQL
- Based on http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=12161, XA transaction recovery does not appear to be possible using MySQL. This is scheduled to be addressed in MySQL 6.1. See also JBPAPP-2576 in the release notes for JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5.
Anyone else run into this issue?

tomjenkinson Jan 24, 2013 7:45 AM (in response to jaikiran)Hi Rick,
Sorry I didn't see this message on time, maybe I don't get emails when discussions are moved here...
Anyway, that MySQL issue affects all application servers, it means recovery will work if MySQL crashes, but not if the transaction manager crashes.
I would suggest trying your app with PostGres as that does seem to work for recovery.

toddiuszho Jan 15, 2014 5:28 PM (in response to tomjenkinson)Thanks for the informative response. I was under the mindset that XA Recovery couldn't work with MySQL and was about to experiment with disabling writing to disk/object store. Good to see it still does have some benefit under certain scenarios.
