From EAP5 documentation:
- Based on http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=12161, XA transaction recovery does not appear to be possible using MySQL. This is scheduled to be addressed in MySQL 6.1. See also JBPAPP-2576 in the release notes for JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5.
Anyone else run into this issue?
Moved this to JBoss Transactions forum. Someone there might know more about this.
Sorry I didn't see this message on time, maybe I don't get emails when discussions are moved here...
Anyway, that MySQL issue affects all application servers, it means recovery will work if MySQL crashes, but not if the transaction manager crashes.
I would suggest trying your app with PostGres as that does seem to work for recovery.
Thanks for the informative response. I was under the mindset that XA Recovery couldn't work with MySQL and was about to experiment with disabling writing to disk/object store. Good to see it still does have some benefit under certain scenarios.
