How to deploy .war file and run JBoss

Hi All,

I'm newbie for JBoss, previously i was using Jakarta Tomcat 5.0 for deplyment server. Now i wana to deploy same .war what i have deployed in Tomcat in JBoss. Can any one help regarding this plzzzzzzzz.

What version of JBoss AS? Deployment under 7.x is very different from 6.x or earlier (where deployment is mostly copying a file to the deploy folder, much like what is done with Tomcat).

What Peter meant is which version of JBoss do you have downloaded and installed, this is indispensable to give you an answer.

When you download JBoss AS you must download a specific version, which one was it?
When you unzip the JBoss AS you downloaded, the version number is part of the base directory name, what version number appears there?
If all else fails, when you start JBoss AS it prints the version number to the console log.
Any of the above would be helpful.

Finally, are you running JBoss AS from a command line, or are you using an IDE such as NetBeans or Eclipse?
