peterj May 21, 2013 1:47 PM (in response to himaece)What version of JBoss AS? Deployment under 7.x is very different from 6.x or earlier (where deployment is mostly copying a file to the deploy folder, much like what is done with Tomcat).

When you unzip the JBoss AS you downloaded, the version number is part of the base directory name, what version number appears there?
If all else fails, when you start JBoss AS it prints the version number to the console log.
Any of the above would be helpful.
Finally, are you running JBoss AS from a command line, or are you using an IDE such as NetBeans or Eclipse?
