Hi guys, Need the help about the Cluster on jboss 5.1

Hi,

I am a like starter on JBoss, I have experienced about an other application server but i want to do work on Jboss AS also want to deploy on client side with cluster. Any buddy can help me regards the cluseter plz ? I have installed JBoss AS 5.1 on linux 32bit , and want to create vertical and horizontal cluster, I have no idea about the configuration files, where these location and how to configured multiple files. Hope JBoss expert will help me asap

If you use JBoss5 you can simple start with bin/run.sh -c all where the -c parameter specify the configuration.

all contains the full stack including cluster features.

Now you can deploy a clustered application by drop the EAR file into server/all/deploy folder.

It depends on the application whether you need additional staff.

For EJB's the JBoss client library will provide the proxy with cluster features.

If you have a web application you need a loadbalancher in fron, JBoss only provide the session replication.

If i have multiple instance on same machine like abc1, abc2 and abc3 then how i start the multiple instances , sh run.sh -c all , is it sufficient to start all instance or i will start one by one ?

Depends on how you install it.

If you have different unzipped directories you can start each instance with run.sh -c all or you have the same instance but copy the directory all to abc1 abc2 ... then you can start with different -c  options.

In any case you have to change the port numbers for http and so on, have a look to this wiki Service Binding Manager

I really appreciate thats is good stuff   One thing more i want to know by you that, is it possible that can we use 1 admin console for all instance like abc1, abc2 and abc... ?

for example in IBM WAS dmgr provide centralize admin console for monitoring and configuring multiple cluster member ! so same thing is available in jboss ?

This feature is available for AS7 or WildFly and know as domain-mode.

With JBoss AS5 you need to manage each instance separate.
