Problems updating model in the designer

    skethire

When I remove one of the existing objects in a view model in VDB the designer clears out transformation and mapping for all other object in that view model and shows error.

      I tried,

      1. Clear the transformation mapping for one of the object and then delete view of that object and then delete the corresponding source for that object
      2. Delete one of the object in the view and then corresponding source
      3. Delete one of the object in source and then related object in view

Since the transformations are cleared for all objects in the view,  I have to remap for all objects again in view.

Is this an issue or am I doing something wrong?  Is there any other way to remove objects from the model without losing all the transformations and mapping?

I am using Teiid Designer 8.2

      Thanks

Your "object" here is a column on a view or table? Did you try with "delete" action or took the transformation out?

            Ramesh,

            Thanks for your response

What I deleted is a table in the view model.  Basically, whenever I delete a table in the view model, even after clearing the transformations first, the transformations for all tables in the view disappear.  I have a fairly complex view model with about 50 tables.  Recreating the transformations for so many tables again is a big effort.

            Thanks

              Srini,

I've tried a few scenarios with a simple source/view model set-up with a couple layers of virtual tables.  Haven't been able to replicate losing any adjacent/unrelated transformations (SQL).

Is there any way you can 1) Log a JIRA (Teiid Designer - JBoss Issue Tracker) and either attach your model project set or a simpler/generic project that replicates your issue.

              Thx

                Barry,

                Thanks for looking into this.

I will get back with you with a vdb to reproduce the problem.  I will have to create one - since the vdb I am working with has a source that has many tables and it may not be feasible to send you everything as is.

                Thanks
