memory allocation issue

Hi there,

I would like to know how exactly can I determine if the memory settings that I set in the run.bat are actually being used or not?

I'm using JBoss 4.0.2 with java 32 bit over windows server 2008.

I set the xmx to 1GB but in the boot log i don't any record of memory allocation (comparing with other JBoss app servers that I use).

I'm guessing there is also a default set of values in case you don't put it in the run.bat file, so I'm wondering what it is.

If you want to make an ThreadDump you can run these commands
kill -3 PID
jstack PID > myfile.dump

If you set "-Xms128m -Xmx1024m" or other values this should be used.
You might use JConsole, jstat or visualVM to check that - depends on your JVM version
