Jboss EAP 6.1 Alpha stop from eclipse does not change server.log

Forum Admins -- please move this to Jboss forum if you think it is more appropriate there... however I am using standalone-teiid.xml to start the server... hence I posted in the teiid forum.

Platform:  Win 7 Enterprise (64 bit OS)

      Versions used:

          eclipse-standard-kepler-SR2-win32

          JDK : C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_41

          JBOSS EAP 6.1 Alpha

          Teiid runtime :  teiid-8.8.0.Final-jboss-dist.zip

Jboss eap 6.1 alpha starts fine from eclipse when I click on the start icon.  and it writes to server.log

However, when I try to stop the server using the red square button in eclipse,

it says it stopped in less than a second... but it does not write anything into server.log.. which is concerning because.... if I use command window to start the server using standalone.bat -c standalone-teiid.xml   and when I hit control-C... it writes a long list of messages to server.log

      Couple of questions:

      1.  Is there a way to verify if the Jboss EAP 6.1 server really stopped?

      2.  Do I have to specify anything in particular in eclipse for the shutdown to write messages to server.log?

      Thanks.
