shawkins Dec 22, 2014 8:49 AM (in response to tomaat)Use any of the quick starts that use a server, or follow - Connecting to a Teiid Server - Teiid 8.10 (draft) - Project Documentation Editor or ODBC Support - Teiid 8.10 (draft) - Project Documentation Editor and the appropriate child pages. Is there any particular problem that you are having?

2. Re: Client applications connection to Teiid Server
tomaat Dec 24, 2014 7:51 AM (in response to shawkins)Hi Steven,
I am setting up ODBC connection first. I am using following properties when creating new DSN:
Database: VDB name deployed on JBoss server
Server: name of the machine hosting JBoss
user, password: same as on Teiid instance (user, user)
port: 35432
I am getting error as shown in the attachment. From the command prompt, i have tested ping on Server hosting JBoss and it succeeds. Any idea what i am doing wrong?
Thanks
Ahmad

shawkins Dec 27, 2014 6:54 PM (in response to tomaat)Hi Ahmad,
Sorry for the delay in a reply. You should verify that the server is set up for odbc (the server log should have an info message about starting the a socket listener) and that you have connectivity between your client and the server on the odbc port.

4. Re: Client applications connection to Teiid Server
tomaat Dec 30, 2014 6:34 AM (in response to shawkins)Hi Steven,
The issue seems related to setting up my JBoss-Teiid server. I have specified the host name to default "localhost" which can not be accessed on network. If i specify the domain name of server as host name, the JBoss server fails to start. Please see the attached screen where local host reflects to 127.0.0.1 (accessible only on the server and not from the external server). Any help on the steps i should take to replace localhost with physical server name?
Thanks
Ahmad

5. Re: Client applications connection to Teiid Server
shawkins Dec 30, 2014 9:53 AM (in response to tomaat)How are you specifying the server bind address? Are you modifying the standalone configuration or using the -Djboss.bind.address option - http://www.mastertheboss.com/jboss-server/jboss-configuration/jboss-start-up-configuration

6. Re: Client applications connection to Teiid Server
tomaat Dec 31, 2014 6:16 AM (in response to shawkins)Thanks Steven. Indeed the standalone config was pointing to localhost IP that i have fixed.
I have now setup the DSN on one of client machines but i am getting architecture mismatch error when i try to use the DSN in SSRS. Please see the error attached.
I have tried both the 32bit and 64bit versions of drivers but the error is still there.
Any help on recommended settings for SSRS SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows 2008 R2 x64
Thanks
Ahmad

shawkins Jan 2, 2015 9:45 AM (in response to tomaat)The only help I could point to would be to follow the online help - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms712362%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
I don't think we've had any community experience with this combination before. You could also try other ODBC applications to see if you can get further or a better error.
