    Artificer and Teiid collaboration

    brmeyer

Hello!  I know Teiid and Artificer (formerly Overlord S-RAMP) have worked together in the past, but it was before my time.  Ramesh recently commented on Artificer/S-RAMP vs. ModeShape: Misconceptions about Teiid's "looking for a tool for metadata repository, that can evolve into dependency analysis and impact analysis tool for Teiid artifacts/metadata".  I know the Teiid team had previously contributed a module within Artificer itself.  Just curious to get your thoughts on possible ways we could collaborate.  I'd be interested in discussing how Artificer might be used as a data store endpoint within Teiid, as well as ways Teiid could utilize Artificer directly (as Ramesh mentioned).

      Thanks!

          Brett,

We are trying gather requirements as to what this tool needs to accomplish first, then we can talk about usage of Artificer. What we had before does not look like it has ever been used. I would like us to take fresh look at the whole governance around Teiid and its artifacts. I will let know as soon as I find more info.

          Thanks

          Ramesh..

              Hi Brett,

I wrote the initial Teiid/SRAMP integration way back when. Not sure if any of it will be useful to Artificer/Teiid in the future, but don't hesitate to get with me if you have any questions about it.

              Have a good one,

              Dan

Dan, thanks much!  I still maintain the Teiid plugin in Artificer, but more or less from an Artificer SPI maintenance standpoint.  Admittedly, it probably needs some new attention to sync it with more recent Teiid versions.  I might ping you sometime soon with some questions.
