    JBoss EAP 6.4.0.Alpha License

    haukem

It is possible to download JBoss EAP 6.4.0.Alpha without accepting any license, like it was possible with JBoss EAP 6.1.0.Alpha.

Is JBoss EAP 6.4.0.Alpha published under the same license as JBoss EAP 6.1.0.Alpha?

Am I allowed to use JBoss EAP 6.4.0.Alpha in production without an subscription?

These are the terms and conditions for the developer program under which the Alphas are released http://www.jboss.org/terms-and-conditions/

Those terms and conditions only talk about development use, whereas 6.1 Alpha was ok to use in production as well.

So question by Hauke is still valid. Can it be used in production without a subscription?

Where did you read/hear that JBoss EAP 6.1 Alpha was OK to use in production without a subsrciption? As far as I know, that's not true.

"The 6.1 Alpha binary is made available for free (both for development and production use) to the entire community. This allows community users who have been using the community server JBoss AS (now renamed to WildFly) a chance to get the bug fixes and possibly other features which had been added while the productization work was in progress."

This is your own writing. There are other sources as well, such as

                https://developer.jboss.org/message/819862

"This development restriction, however, does not apply to EAP alpha releases. EAP alpha releases may be ran in production if you so desire."

                To name a few examples.

Lol! Thanks for pointing that out Indeed that was me who stated that a couple of years back when it was fresh in my mind what these licenses and releases meant. So I'll mute myself in this thread, since I am no longer remember what's expected of these releases.

The earlier statements about EAP 6.1 Alpha apply to all EAP 6 Alpha releases.  They can be run in production.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear.
