1. Re: How to convert nvarchar2 to string datatype in view using DDL approach
shawkins Jan 20, 2016 3:19 PM (in response to govindarajs)What version of Teiid are you using?
Older versions of Teiid did not properly import the nvarchar2 type - [TEIID-2281] Exception when updating Oracle NVARCHAR2 columns (Teiid embedded) - JBoss Issue Tracker

2. Re: How to convert nvarchar2 to string datatype in view using DDL approach
govindarajs Jan 21, 2016 4:10 AM (in response to shawkins)Currently we are using Teiid Server 8.7 with Jboss EAP 6.1
Here we are using DDL approach to create VDB, so we don't have source model, directly JDBC consider as a source model and write SQL queries in view model and deploy the VDB in the Teiid Server 8.7

shawkins Jan 21, 2016 8:34 AM (in response to govindarajs)Actually this wasn't fully addressed until Teiid 8.10 [TEIID-3294] dynamic vdb imports nvarchar2 as object - JBoss Issue Tracker

5. Re: How to convert nvarchar2 to string datatype in view using DDL approach
shawkins Jan 21, 2016 10:44 AM (in response to govindarajs)You would have to define the metadata for the source table in ddl rather than just letting it import. To do this you would exclude it from import, and used chained metadata to have both ddl and imported metadata - Metadata Repositories - Teiid 8.7 - Project Documentation Editor
