File Translator Names

Hi, after successfully doing the Teiid Data Federation Quickstart I'm now attempting to create a vdb based on one of my own csv files.  I've defined a resource adaptor for my csv files, and have created a physical model for them, but am scratching my head about what to use for the file translator name in my EXEC ___.getTextFiles() statement of my virtual model.  The quickstart uses EXEC MarketData.getTextFiles('*.txt'), but I can't find an explicit declaration of "MarketData" anywhere in the quickstart configs.  Yet it works.  What am I missing?

Hi Joe,

the MarketData is referring to the model that's defined in the VDB.

Thanks Van, makes sense.  I got confused by the case difference in the Quickstart doc I was using (  https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/teiidexamples/Hello+World+Teiid+Data+Federation+Example ) which has <model name="marketdata".  I imagine typical SQL rules apply here - i.e. case insensitive names.

Ah, I see why you see a difference.   I was pulling from the actual quickstart https://github.com/teiid/teiid-quickstarts/tree/master/vdb-datafederation and you were pointing at the doc's.  But yes, to the SQL rules apply.
