Unable to import data services using Data Services Builder - Web UI

Hello,

I have setup Data Services Builder - Web UI to take a look at it but when i invoke http://localhost:8080/vdb-bench URL,  getting an error "The host “http://localhost:8080/vdb-builder/v1' is not reachable: Status code: 500" as shown below.    Also getting the same error when i try to test the admin and jdbc connection under User > Preferences link.  Are there any other settings or configuration that we need to do in order to use Data Services Builder ?   I am using teiid-8.12.4 and Java 1.8 for Data Services Builder.

The importing  data service also keeps running and does not either throw an error or successful message as shown below.

Are you trying the zip download linked on this page ?  Getting Started with Data Services Builder

(I'd like to first confirm what install you are using)

Yes.  I used DataserviceBuilder-07152016-install.zip downloaded from that page "Getting Started with Data Services Builder".

Hi Mani,

I checked install on my linux system to confirm it worked for me.  Are you on linux or windows?

Other thoughts, make sure you dont have any other servers running locally (ports open), make sure localhost resolves.  If still having issues we can see if anything in the logs.

We just finished a development sprint and should have an updated kit in a couple weeks.

Hi Mark,

I have installed it in Windows 7 (64-bit) to take a look at it.  See the attached server.log.   I don't have any other any other servers running and also confirmed that localhost works fine if i access management console as shown below.

Hi Mark,

Looks like it is taking longer to deploy so it shows up data service page after few minutes of server restarted but getting "The endpoint is not available" and "The target of the query has not yet been deployed" as shown below.

Unfortunately looking at the server log, this looks like Windows issue that we had not yet tested in development.  We will look into this further and hopefully resolve with the next community release.
