1. Re: In teiid designer-JBossDataVirtualization6.3.0, hive connectivity is established but it points only to default database only.
rareddy Feb 23, 2018 8:49 AM (in response to alohchab)Typically this is based on the JDBC driver, I do not believe Designer does anything above and beyond to change the database type or any other properties. So, I will double check all the properties URL etc and consult Hive JDBC driver documents to make sure.

rareddy Feb 23, 2018 2:18 PM (in response to alohchab)In that case, I suggest, you use "Teiid Connection Importer" to import metadata than using JDBC importer.

alohchab Feb 26, 2018 5:10 AM (in response to rareddy)I am using "Teiid connection importer" only to import metadata.

7. Re: In teiid designer-JBossDataVirtualization6.3.0, hive connectivity is established but it points only to default database only.
rareddy Mar 5, 2018 1:22 PM (in response to alohchab)That looks correct. I see you are using 0.12 version of the JDBC driver, depending on the Hive Server you are using that *may be* incompatible, Is that version that came with JDV? The documentation says 2.0 here Red Hat JBoss Data Virtualization 6.x Supported Configurations - Red Hat Customer Portal It maybe it is worth exploring using other clients like SquirreL and see if anything is different.

jstastny Mar 6, 2018 5:47 AM (in response to alohchab)Hello alohchab
I've verified that I can import from database other than 'default' using Teiid Designer 11.1.1 accessing both JDV6.3.8 and JDV 6.4.0.
Both JDBC import and Teiid connection import work as expected.
I am using JDBC url similar to yours. I use 1.2.1 hive jdbc driver.
