Where to set allowEnvFunction

I was wondering where to set the allowEnvFunction? This is quite unclear in the documentation and the best I could find was in jira tracker:

I like to use the ENV(key) function to read a token to access a webservice by sending it in the header. As far as I know I can't add extra header information at the resource adapter level.

I use JBoss Datavirtualization 6.3.8.
